Energy transition requires gradual and steady change of the current energy system that is mostly based on fossil fuels ( oil and gas and coal) to adopt energy systems that are more sustainable and clean and dominated by renewable energies. This means the share of renewable energies in the energy mix globally and in African countries will grow fast in the next decades. It comes with needs for adequate skills and capabilities in creating, managing and developing renewable energy systems and energy transition strategies in African countries. Skills are required in fields such as energy efficiency, circularity, energy financing, energy policy and strategies, energy replacement (fuel switching), electric vehicles and energy storage, etc. Instructors are invited to publish courses and develop program in this respect.
